2025 WWE SummerSlam Card: Full Match Lineup, Schedule, Start Time & Main Event Featuring John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes

🌟 WWE SummerSlam 2025: A Two-Night Wrestling Spectacle at MetLife Stadium

The biggest WWE event of the summer is finally here — SummerSlam 2025 — and it’s set to be bigger than ever. For the first time, SummerSlam will take place over two nights at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just like WrestleMania does each year in April.

One of the most highly anticipated matches is a rematch from WrestleMania between WWE Champion John Cena and the man he beat for the title, Cody Rhodes. This major showdown will headline Night 2 on Sunday.

🥊 Night 1 (Saturday): Six Big Matches, Celebrities & Title Battles

There will be six matches on Saturday night, and each one promises plenty of action. In the main event, CM Punk is getting another shot at the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. Punk hasn’t held a world title since returning to WWE and failed in his last attempt against Cena earlier this year. Now, he has one more chance.

Also on Saturday, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton defends her title against Jade Cargill, one of the toughest challengers she’s faced. The Women’s Tag Team Titles will also be on the line, with champions Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez (The Judgment Day) defending against the legendary duo of Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.

There's also a celebrity match, something SummerSlam is known for. This time, music star Jelly Roll makes his wrestling debut by teaming up with Randy Orton. They’ll go up against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. The feud started when Paul interrupted a performance by Jelly Roll and attacked Orton. Things heated up further at Saturday Night’s Main Event when Jelly Roll helped Orton win a match, only to get knocked out by McIntyre's Claymore Kick.

In a match that could shake up long-term WWE storylines, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed will face Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. Reigns recently returned to team up with Punk and Uso. This match is happening partly because Seth Rollins, the leader of Breakker and Reed’s faction, is out with a real knee injury. Now, Breakker and Reed need to prove themselves without him. Interestingly, Paul Heyman, who used to manage Reigns and Uso, now supports Breakker, Reed, and Rollins.

Finally, Sami Zayn and Karrion Kross will go head-to-head to settle their ongoing issues. Kross has been trying to make Zayn show a darker side, leading to weeks of attacks. Now they’ll settle things once and for all at SummerSlam.

🔥 Night 2 (Sunday): Title Matches, Grudges & High-Stakes Action

Sunday’s main event is the Undisputed WWE Championship match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes. Rhodes earned this title shot by winning the King of the Ring tournament, while Cena defended his title earlier that same night. Their rematch will be a Street Fight, which means no disqualifications — anything goes.

In the Women’s World Championship, Naomi defends her title against Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley in a Triple Threat Match. Naomi shocked everyone by cashing in her Money in the Bank contract during a match between Ripley and Sky at Evolution, winning the title. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce then made the triple threat official.

Becky Lynch will defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lyra Valkyria. After a tough journey through matches involving Bayley, Valkyria finally earned her shot at Becky’s title.

Another grudge match will see Solo Sikoa defend the United States Championship against Jacob Fatu inside a steel cage. Sikoa tried to frame Fatu for a car crash, but the truth came out. Now, they’re settling things the hard way.

Dominik Mysterio will finally face AJ Styles for the Intercontinental Championship. Mysterio had been avoiding Styles by claiming he was medically unfit to compete, but once he got cleared, the match was made official.

And finally, the WWE Tag Team Championship will be up for grabs in a wild TLC (Tables, Ladders & Chairs) Match featuring six teams:

  • Wyatt Sicks (champions)

  • #DIY

  • Street Profits

  • Fraxiom

  • Motor City Machine Guns

  • Andrade & Rey Fenix

This match is packed with chaos and could happen on either night, though it's expected to take place on Night 2 to keep the schedule balanced.
